ASI Radio Proposal

Donated by DeLorean Motor Company (Texas)

This proposal dated October 15, 1981 from Audio Systems, Incorporated (ASI) to DeLorean Motor Company came about as a result of the poor quality of the Craig radios used in the early DeLorean cars. Leif Montin, National Parts Manager for DeLorean Motor Company in Irvine, California had experience with ASI products from his time with Saab in the 1970’s and recommended that ASI put forth a proposal to DMC.

As part of the proposal to become the new stereo supplier to DeLorean Motor Company, ASI also developed and engineered the method for installation of the rear mounted power antenna.

This 29 page proposal includes pricing for the ASI radio that was chosen for installation in the 1982 models, along with color sketches of a higher end model that was also offered to DMC.
