Process Sheets (or Sketches) were created to walk an operator through his portion of the assembly process.
Many manufacturers create very detailed drawings with everything from the order which the assembler does his job to the parts, tools and torque measurements required. Process engineers would work with the operators in the various departments to establish the assembly process for the car, and there was some flexibility in that changes could be made as needed. The DeLorean sheets that have surfaced to date contain few details beyond the basic description of the job. The sketches illustrated here might not be accurate as some of the items were apparently changed prior to and during production.
Update (Feb 19, 2018): The Museum was contacted by Bill Martin, who created a number of these illustrations shown here. We're as pleased to have them as he is to see them on this website!
Special thanks to Bruce Benson for his donation of copies from his personal collection and his insights regarding the subject of process sketches.
