one of one! factory burgundy interior delorean
The first couple thousand DeLorean cars built all came with black interiors, and grey interior cars came along first with a six-car run in July of 1981 with VINs 2436-2441. Significant production of grey interior cars really started a little over a month later with VIN 2973. Other colors were planned, samples produced and part numbers assigned for tan (used on one of the factory old plated cars, VIN 4300), as well as blue and burgundy.
In late 1981, two production cars were pulled from the assembly line and handed over to the Experimental Workshop led by Christpher Bradley. At some point in early 1982, these cars were re-fitted with the sample blue and burgundy interior parts and used as company cars at the factory. After the closure of the factory in late 1982, these two cars were unceremoniously sold off at a British Cars Auction in England.

In 2014, the burgundy interior car was located in a private collection just outside of London, and James Espey and Sarah Heasty took some from their UK vacation to visit the car and take the following photos
